Grayson family papers, 1835-1959.

Correspondence, financial documents, legal documents, and research materials. Includes papers of Benjamin S. Grayson (d. 1849), businessman of Velasco, Tex., and Camargo, Mexico, sheriff of Austin County, Tex., and shipper of supplies to California during the early days of the gold rush. Also includes papers of Grayson's brother, Thomas W. Grayson (1808-1873), pertaining to his activities as master of the steamboat Yellow Stone and other vessels operating on the Texas coast, rancher, and manager of the holdings of his brother's estate, and papers of their sister, Elizabeth Mary Grayson (1804-1889). Other family members represented include Bennie Grayson Pirie Campbell, Bennie S. Campbell, Joseph Neil Campbell, Emma E. Pirie, and John N. Pirie.
